Changes to how you log on to Online Banking

We’re making some changes to how you log on to Online Banking as a result of new regulation which affects the whole banking sector.
We’re continually improving Online Banking and these changes, called Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), affect how we check it’s you when you use Online Banking.
We’re starting work on this now and the main thing you’ll need to do is
What’s changing?
As well as seeing changes to Online Banking when you log on, you’ll need to have an up to date mobile number registered in order to log on. You won’t need anything else you previously used to log on to Online Banking (such as image and phrase or password). The system will now send a unique One Time Passcode to your mobile phone to use at point of logging on to verify the request is genuine.
What you need to do
If you haven’t already, ensure your registered mobile number is up to date either via online banking or calling us on 0330 678 2811
